Just to say that, with all this grief and upset, you might well have saved other dogs.
While talking to someone else who has 2 rescue staffies - he said his boy was already quite large at only 6 months (and he is a proper staffie person and really lovely).
I told him your awful story. He has now booked his boy into the vets so he has all the documentation to state his dog is a pure staffie. He wasn't sure that the basic vax cards would cover it and wanted to be sure.
