But she is used to being muzzled and can even get double netted soaked hay out with the muzzle on so there is no hope........
I gave her a normal net first night as wel as trickle net and trickle net was empty and normal net wasn't - so she actively chose to use it. Strange pony
My mare found her technique within half an hour, very quick. My gelding just stared at it in horror!! I didn't persist because he was only with me briefly before going back into training - we will however be trying again this weekend, and I won't be caving in this time!
Hi, my boy took a while before he emptied his nets, at first I realised that he just couldn't get much hay out as my hay is very tightly packed so now I loosen it before filling the nets and he is now finishing them overnight. I also think he thought if he left it I would give up using them lol.
My hay is the stuff that falls apart as soon as you touch it so it shoudl pull through the holes easily. Think he just might be lazy so moves on to eating his bed instead!
On ebay the following is written under the description of the net
"Some horses may take a few days to get used to using the Trickle Net. This is quite normal and we recommend you feed from their usual net aswell while introducing the Trickle Net. Some will get the hang of it quickly, and soon realise they have to use their lips much more."
