A very happy conclusion to Buzz's story

So sorry to hear about your nan, but delight about Buzz, looking forward to hearing about your future adventures together, enjoy your boy:)

I am soooooo thrilled to read this!! You're going to have great fun with him :)

Cambridge vet school is amazing, they performed an extremely tricky operation on my dog (tumour) which was then followed by 6 months of chemo. The level of care when the dog was an impatient was off the scale, they are awesome :)!!!!

Dog cancer is their real specialism, so he really couldn't have been in a better place, I'm so glad for you that he got the chance to go there. Was he treated by Jane by any chance?

What an incredible story - and a wonderful outcome for you and Buzz. So happy for you both - watery eyes at work is always a good look!

What an amazing and fantastic outcome.

I was one who questioned not putting Buzz down - his issues seemed insurmountable. And I've wondered over the last couple of months how he (and you) were getting on.

To say I'm thrilled for you is an understatement.

I'm not surprised to be honest - I questioned my decision a lot. But he just always seemed to be interested in what was going on around him, and in eating (even when he couldn't get through most things). And he never once failed to demolish a pack of Hobnobs!
I felt like I owed it to him to see if the treatment worked, and it never really felt like there was another option.

Turning away was the real turning point though - I've always been a fan of Dr Green but going forward I will not hesitate to lob him out in a field if anything is wrong, it really did make a huge difference.

WOW what a massive journey and what a fantastic result! Just goes to show that we should listen hard to what they are trying to tell us. He was willing to fight and well done you for allowing him to.............. Massive kudos to the vets and hopefully this is a turning point for other poor horses in the same boat once her paper is written!

Fantastic news, I have tears in my eyes reading that! So pleased for you and Buzz; it sounds like your Nan was looking down on you both yesterday.

I'm sure you will keep enjoying that wonderful horse of yours, lots of love xx

It would be good even if more people knew to try and find the right place to treat this sort of thing....I had to find the referral myself (after speaking to Newmarket, Liverpool, the RVC and the University of Ohio!!) because it's just such a specialised area, and even the veterinary community isn't hugely aware of it.

It was very telling that the CT vet who I'd seen originally in January said he couldn't believe Buzz was still alive when he saw that he was booked in for a follow up.

Oh Twiglet, what a fantastic ending to the chapter!! I also have tears in my eyes, what a great result and a lovely lovely vet. I'm so happy for both of you and can't wait for the next few happier chapters!!

So so pleased for your miracle horse H. I can't wait to see you out eventing next year with Buzz' #TE/HHO fan club. There were so many dark days for you both, but huge well done for going through what you did for him as he did for you :-)

This has made my day - really - I am so, so happy for you, for Buzz, for your support teams. Very done for persevering, for all your love and dedication and here's to many more years with your beautiful boy :)

Yes, Jane and her surgical team, the vet doing the residency was particularly amazing (Julia)! We went back last week for a check up with oncology and Julia had a bleep to ask her if she wanted cuddles with our dog...........think the dog made a lasting impression as she's always waggy tailed and happy, unlike some patients ;)!!
