Ah it's made my cry all over again reading these comments. I feel so incredibly lucky that we've come out the other side of this, and it's made me appreciate him all the more.
Sunday was probably the best day of my year:
Booked in for our first event at the end of Sept - scared and excited in equal measure, not helped by my irrational (as in both vets and physio have confirmed that there is no reason for him not to be bitted, and he's not in pain) reluctance to take any hold on his mouth whatsoever, so he basically gets to travel at speed whenever he feels like it!
I too have tears in my eyes reading this!!! I bet that buzz has made your vets year!!!! Well worth taking a punt on!!! Well done hon he's gorgeous. Enjoy your time with him now!!!
I've welled up too! Cannot express how happy I am for you, and Buzz, hes been very lucky to have you looking out for him. I have followed his story and he just seems like the nicest horse, a brave boy, and he is so smart!! I hope the two of you enjoy many happy years to come x
What a wonderful outcome. Your vets are second to none. Buzz is such a hero and you are too for keeping going through all the downs. Here's to the 'ups' and I hope you enjoy each other for many years to come.
When I started to read Buzz's story I really doubted the path you'd chosen, especially when he lost so much weight and his jaw was in spasm so he couldn't eat properly. I would have almost certainly put to sleep if I were you.
So well done to you and buzz for proving me wrong. Overjoyed for you
What a truely inspirational and fantastically positive thread! It just goes to show that through sheer grit and determination almost any obstacle can be overcome.
