I recently invested in a new pair of everyday jodhs as my old ones were going to holes rather embaressingly. After much searching I ended up spending more than I intended on a rather nice beige pair, these: http://www.dancinghorse.com.au/prod_desc_BrLifestyleBeig.html?sno=298 (photo from catalouge not me!)

Normally I stick to black as it doesn't show the dirt, and I was devestated to find that my black DR saddle had 'leaked' dye when I rode in the rain the other day.

So ideas on how to get the stain out of the suede seat of the jods?

Piece of apple pie for getting this far! Good ideas get some whipped cream.
 
If it was dye leaked in the rain then it will come off somehow - its just a matter of how.

I would suggest the following - try them more or less in order. if you dry clean some stains they will "set" and you'll never get them out. So going for the gentlest first....

Wash up to temperature with a stain boost like vanish or oxy action and a colour catcher sheet. (You want to catch any loose dye rather than have it re-settle).

If that doesn't work....

Wet the area with ace bleach and re wash with the vanish and colour catcher. Ace bleach might call itself bleach but it isn't and is the mildest stuff you can get. I wouldn't reccommend putting real bleach on suede!

If you're still stained....

Mix up some colour run remover as per the packet and very gently with a sponge see if it makes any difference. Try a bit right in the crotch becuase this has the potential to strip out any colour and if you do end up with a pale bit it won't show. (Hopefully!). If it works carefully treat the suede patches, keeping it off the rest of the johds if at all possible. (I do this on old towels on an ironing board on the couple of poccasions I've got this far.) You could just diop the johds in whole - but they may well loose colour if you do. Mind your hands - this is a variant of caustic soda!

Still no good? Try and get hold of a stain devil for shoe polish and see if that works.

Try a specialist cleaner.

Give up!
