Hello.. *waves*

Sorry this is so late, I went straight from the event on holiday for a week so haven't been near a computer for more than 5 mins!

Well I won't bore you with a long report.. Dressage, he was fab, scored 45.2, but we were in the OI so probably looked a bit pants next to all the advanced horses! Still, I was very pleased with him.

SJ, I was very nervous after the CR at Aston. And the girl before me fell off and needed the paramedics! Anyway, we did a really nice round, had an unlucky 2 just tapped down then rushed the last part of the triple to have the last 2 parts down for 16 faults, again I was actually really happy as he felt nice the whole way round.

XC, the starter seemed pretty horrified it was my first Int XC and said it shoudn't say it is suitable first timer on the net, great! Had a sticky moment at 6; a big solid arrowhead and sort of slithered over but I kicked on and we made the three strides to the next arrowhead no probs, such a star! Flew a big corner and took an alternative at the bounce. Then the only fence I was worried about was an arrowhead with a piddly bit of brush on top (This thing came up to my nose and I'm 5'7"!) then 4 strides on a tight turn to another one.. I got him slightly deep to the first and must not have backed it up with quite enough leg and we ground to a halt. So I came round again we over jumped it, it was pretty massive and had to turn a circle to the second, so 60 faults! He flew the rest of the course and I was chuffed, even if I was last! My trainer had to turn a circle too after the big arrowhead so I wasn't too despondent!

Was supposed to be doing Gatcombe N inbetween Spring Hill and SofE Int, but got balloted; grr. In at the deep end again then! Thanks to everyone for their support and advice too. I won't be around so much now I've started dissertation research so I expect I'll miss loads too!

Thanks for reading, piccies below.

Hope you had a good holiday. Sounds really promising I shouldn't worry about missing Gatcombe I'm sure SoE will be fine.

He looks like he is really enjoying himself in the pictures.

Hey K was wondering where you'd been!! That sounds like a fab ride you had at Spring Hill- very promising! and you and Ferd look so fab in the photos!
That XC starter was very naughty- hardly the right thing to say to somone just starting out on the XC !
Will you be eventing next year or will Uni take over?

Hi,

Thats a great result for your first one, at least you got round! and did it with style by the look of things, you said he felt great and thats the most important thing, this would have done his confidence (and yours) good for the next run!

Good luck with your dissertation!

Thank you S_J, it's nice to have such confidence boosting comments! I've been fretting about missing the novice runs inbetween the Ints but I'm sort of getting on with it.

DoD, how nice to hear someone missed me!

Although the round looks pretty rubbish on paper I was quite chuffed to complete, it took me back to doing my first Intro; all a bit overwhelming.

XC starter was naughty, not really what I needed, but I don't think he mean't to scare the living daylights out of me!!

Uni hasn't taken over yet, but I have to be strict about coming on here during term time, as my course involves a fair bit of computer based work. And I'm doing research for my dissertation now, so I'm trying to cut back! My trainer helps me out during term time and as I finish uni next year I'll definitely be out and about next summer!

How's the lovely Owen, I expect I've missed posts?!
