I actually felt queasy reading that - imagine walking down to the field, spotting a tree down and not being able to see the pony.

.

That's terrible very scary I hate the wind, we had a tree down in the woods opposite our house on Sunday, it was right across the road so had to be cut up and moved, I worry as they are mainly spruce opposite our house and could easily fall and end up on the house or in my field, you can hear them creaking and see them moving about when it's windy like today it's been quite bad.

Wow, looking at those photos I would not have given much for the horse's survival. I think a celebratory drink, then a week off followed by the physio would be in order.

Poor Jay Man had a tree in the next door paddock fall down in high winds (he was always in the middle paddock when it was windy as we knew the neighbour's trees were not good, but they were not ours to cut).

It scared him so badly that afterwards, if it was windy, his poo would be in an area not much bigger than a stable by the evening, all in the very centre of the field. On non-windy days, the poo would be all over the field. He never forgot and he was not within 30 yards of it when it fell.
