Just born - and a first for her mum, Corraslira Cleo (RID), who has had two colts previously.

Filly is by Raj - and WILL be grey!

Cleo is a bit special as she was the last foal born by the great Grey Macha (and she's gorgeous!)

For the first time, it's turning into a filly year for me. 9 of the 10 RID mares have foaled and I have 5 fillies (and 4 colts.) If Rosie gives me a filly that will almost make up for 4 out of 5 of the last TWO years pure-breds being colts!!

Here she is - aged 15 minutes!

Don't bet on it! Cleo showed the first little bit of wax about 6 hours before she foaled!!

Good luck!

I know everyone says isn't she cute but I love the way her neck is set on already.
To me she is the nicest one yet of your lot..

She should be - her mother cost me an arm and a leg - most expensive horse I ever bought! AND I bought her from a photo - ungraded!

But she does have nice babies!

This is last year's - Fascinating Rhythm!

And a nice one of Cleo with her first colt - Jazz King

But whether Lady Ella is nicer than Maggie's filly - mmmm - jury is out! I'll tell you in 4 weeks or so!

And if my eyes don't deceive me, a couple of rather nice IDs in your sig - what's their breeding??

How many I keep - ah, there's the question. Depends on how many of the others I can sell! I'd like to keep Cleo and Maggie's fillies, at least. But then I rather like the others too!

But I need top sell at LEAST 15 youngsters this year JUST to be as overstocked as I was last winter, and I HAVE to keep Buck (potential future stallion) so .....

Hi Janet,

Your eye do indeed decieve you....lol

Can you remember us from the IHDG, lady with the Percherons breeding Spanish Normans???

The two youngsters in my sig are both Spanish Norman, they are Percheron x Andalusian.

The filly in the second pic is my eldest, i have had two Norman foals this year and will hopefully have three next. It's been steady work but the breed is slowly getting established and we're getting all the right interest in what we're doing so fingers crossed for the future.

xxx

P.s i stil wan a Raj baby at some point in the future....

Super filly Janet - and I'm so glad this has been a 'filly year' for you!

Hello and welcome to Silversons - I believe we know each other too! Your Spanish Normans are gorgeous! Could you start a new thread with some photos of them - I'm sure others on here would be v interested to see them!

From the WHAT??

Yes, I do remember you from SOMEwhere! I rather liked the idea of AndalucianxPercheron - although I no longer have my Percheron x mare! She had the ugliest foal in the WORLD by a very pretty coloured sport horse stallion - but a very handsome lad by Raj. I DID think that if I hadn't had to send her to that great stud farm in the sky I would have liked to try an Andalucian on her - for added pretty genes!!

The DO look like IDs though! Maybe a filly to Raj?? (I'm being optimistic here as Raj is off to Kearns & Ray tomorrow for investigation of sudden onset, very severe lameness in a front foot! He's a poorly boy and I'm very worried about him.)

Oh no I'm sorry about your mare, i was only thinking of the not really so ugly boy just not your usual quality baby!!!! lol, how did he get on???

I have been asked a couple of times if she's ID, I will be interested to see how she matures and compares to the ID.

A filly to Raj in the future isn't so much of a bad idea, there could be something in that. I do hope he's going to be ok........Please keep us updated as to how he's doing.

Sadly the affore mentioned site isn't the place it was anymore, it seems to be missing charecter.

Ah - the Fugly one is still with us - but I'm afraid his days may be numbered. He had retained caps which caused diastemas so he's Fugly and skinny; we tried to fatten him up and he grew fast instead - and got OCD in a stifle. AND he has sweet itch.

IF I decide to spend £2,000 on surgery (assuming the vets think the prognosis is favourable) and another couple of hundred on dental work to reduce the problems caused by the diastemas, then he would still be a Fugly, itchy horse - who'd be fairly close to unsaleable. His only saving grace is a sweet temperament! He's due to go to the Horse-pital for investigation of the stifle in a couple of weeks - then I may have to make a very hard decision!

Thankfully Raj is a good patient - he doesn't mind box rest as long as the haylage keeps coming - so hopefully we'll be able to mend him. WIll report once we've been to Kearns & Ray tomorrow.

I think the other place banned all its 'characters' which is why it's rather lacking it!

I've just caught up and seen the new thread - lovely pics!

I'm OK - still struggling to put on weight, but determined to be well and strong enough to ride when my boy is started under saddle this autumn!

Hope you and the horses are well?

We're really well thanks Kate, had a far better year so far. Started showing Samara, out of the three county shows we've done we have come home with two thirds and a second. Given that we've never shown seriously before i really can't complain.

Bet you can't wait to climb aboard him, we expect to be snowed under with pic you know. xxx
