A very very happy, finally getting somewhere I love my pony lesson report, yayy!

Wow, he looks fantastic! And very jealous of your results- struggling to get 60% on my big dumblood at the mo. I reckon Hampshire WBs clearly much superior ;-) he is so lovely but afraid I agree on the matchy matchy, I think the blues look great on orange ponies ;-)

Mavis - haha I work with dumbloods breeding them for dressage, it's sooo nice to go home of an evening and appreciate my normal hwb that I can poke and prod and he just stands there. I would never ever own a dumblood!

W_f - yes Jo is excellent and really does know what she is on about, I like her being intense too, I hate faffing and she is very straight to the point and honest.

PA - I do like green but it's always just so predictable on chestnuts as it's about the only thing that half suits them :( what about yellow? :D :D

Love the matchy and what a beautiful pony :D As a fellow tall rider (5'7 and a bit) on a 14.2 who likes to dabble in dressage and dress their native up, its really encouraging to see how well you are doing :)
Quick query, how long do the Anky bandages come up? I've just bought my connie a set, but he does not have the longest cannon bones in the world...and I often have to snip down bandages for his little legs!

Lemon looks lush on an orange pony - HKM do the Cassandra cloth and then lemon bandages are on Ebay. My wee orange man has lemon & forest green, royal blue, purple and lilac which sounds gross but looks very cute and then black and silver he has as well oh and navy with pale blue.

Ninja pony - errr they are very long around his little front legs but I do just wind them round and round, I'm too scared to cut them lol :p but yes they are a good full length big horse size!

Boysy - I am now googling :D yay!!

Ahaa rara, your ponies are in proportion though doug has a Mankey long back :( you should just wear it anyway :D

He is absolutely gorgeous, doesn't look at all like your 5'5 on a 13.3 either, he looks like a huge dressage horse - you both look to be enjoying yourself :)

As for the matchy matchy, its nice but the saddle cloth looks lighter than the bandages, could just be the light though.

You both look amazing.

NinjaPony I'm pretty sure the Anky bandages are 3m and also quite wide. Have just about got away with them on my 14.2 pony also. You can get pony length bandages from Dressage Deluxe and Inter Equine. I tend to mainly use the shorter length normal bandages (Eskadron, HKM) etc with Eskadron pads underneath as I find the width is more of a problem on little legs and they bunch up unevenly, and pads sort that out.

(Sorry to hijack just thought I'd share as have been experimenting!)

Yes anky bandages are very wide, I could ideally do with cutting them but then I may not
Be able to sell them if I ever choose too.

I'm thinking of buying the green pony eskadron bandages with a pad to match and see if they fit better on the shetlands legs :D

Douglas is looking lovely :D
The 8th pic down at swalf he looks huuuuuuge to me! He is also pulling a pose like a mad WB I know ;)

Don't like the matchy though, and for this reason I think you should drop it round to mine later on today :p

Just to add re: long anky bandages....

This seasons bandages are EVEN longer than the last lot!! Measured my new set against an old set, and they're about half a foot longer!!!

I just measure them against a set of HKM bandages that fit a 16.3hh and a 15hh and lop the ends off to match.

Have had no problems with selling them in the past, have just always mentioned that this is what I've done.

I'd have thought he was a full up 14.2 had you not said his height. He looks super, will have to show my pony what he should be able to do.

I think a nice bright yellow would look lovely on him, or a sand colour if your feeling a little more conservative.

Anky bandages swamp mines stumpy front legs! but I do as you do and just keep wrapping them round :o feels wrong to cut them down :(

what a great post, just had to reply...he looks amazing...you and him are an inspiration to me as i have a 14 nf who has had issues and now im finally starting to get somewhere with him too after finding an instructor after 3 years who finally gets us both, its going so well ive entered a prelim next month....he doesnt feel like a pony either, im so chuffed with him now...well done :-0

Thanks for the info guys, I will definitely chop them then! I try and buy pony size if I can, but sadly anky doesn't seem to cater for small non warmblood legs :p I have no qualms about chopping them if necessary, I have done in the past and it's only me using them.
