A very worrying picture....

Just downloaded it and checked in my photoshop and it's not a fake, you can even see the flecks of hoof coming off from the chainsaw!!! There's a video on YouTube with a guy using an angle grinder

http://youtu.be/1fV5jhzL8rw

Utter fooking morons then.

And no protection on either, one kick from saw or horse (however well trained guys or horse are) and most in there would be maimed at best.

Seen the angle grinder used, wasn't too impressed on one I watched as hoof was ripped off at the end rather than cleanly cut but didn't have the absolute horror watching as I've had with the chainsaw. I don't know how much damage a small grinder can do though. I've watched a large one slice through a friends leg and have seen more than a handful of chainsaw near misses and would never go near one without adequate protection and never near a horse.

There was a lady that used to post on here who had a big heavy draught mare, i think it was a belgian breed and she posted pics/video from somebody in belguim doing similar to a horse .They also used angle grinders etc as the norm to do big horses feet.

just wish i could remember who she was.

The dinky angle grinders are a whole world different to a chainsaw though surely? Chainsaw is just sheer stupidity - both tree surgeons and farriers in my family winced when I showed them this. The reactions to the dinky angle grinders for both was pure interest in watching the outcome.
