Keep coming across a problem with Flash that is really frustrating, when he needs a wee he will not do anything, he won't go forward, he flatly refuses to jump etc. Now I can understand this, because the last thing I'd want to do with a full bladder is run around or jump about, but he also will not go for a wee, even if you get off, take him over to grass and take his saddle off and whistle at him! It's proving to be a bit of a nightmare in lessons and at shows! I'm a bit at a loss for what to do about it haha! Any ideas?!?

Have you tried not looking at him? He might be self conscious!

Ooh tough one! Could you train him to associate a word with a wee? Say the same word over and over when you see him have a wee, and hopefully with time he might go on cue?

I might try trying to get him to associate a word, my friend has done that with his dog and she wee's on cue, but Flash isn't the sharpest tool in the box

He doesn't seem to be self conscious, he's happy to wee in front of people, just won't do it when we actually need him to. Wonder whether it's deliberate on his part, he really does have a look that says 'I know how much I'm annoying you and I'm proud of myself', he does the same look when he's squashed your leg against a fence and won't move

My mare wouldnt wee while riding either. So after grooming and putting saddle on I put her back into her stable for a moment and usually she weed, then we went riding...
