Vet was at yard today so checked in with Robin. He is tentatively pleased and we think he has turned a corner. We can’t say he is “well” but I am confident we are making progress. Vet admitted quite how worried he was about him. He is such a good boy to have his inhaler. A friend had turned him out this morning so I took inhaler to field, stuck his headcollor on and did it in the field. He is tricky in that he tries not to breathe but hopefully enough going in to be helping. His breathing rate is down to 14 after sitting at 20 for ages (26 at worst). He was interested in chatting to the vet, he had been switching off and blocking out the vet, and happy to eat his hay while we were talking. He is much happier being groomed and although dosnt eat his hay constantly he will eat (this was a huge alarm point when he was ill as normally he dosnt stop eating so not eating is a bad sign).
Hoping very much I am not tempting fate but just perhaps there is light at the end of a very dark, long tunnel.
