I havent been out in a while so i decided to get going with the indoor season and spend the weekend at Addington. A friend of mine graciously offered us a place to stay within 5mins, stable included, so on saturday morning off we went for a full weekend of festivities

Arrived a little early so watched the end of the BN before walking the course for the Diso. The plan was to jump this (as im working towards my DC's before im out of the class) and the 1.05 and then maybe move up on sunday.

The course walked well and looked inviting and Fee must of thought so because she went round a little quicker than i would of liked. The first few jumped really well and i thought we were on for the DC i wanted, until the dreaded planks

She backed off about three strides out and i had to push a little, she only clipped the top to make them wobble, before the top one fell.

The rest of the round was lovely and had we not had four faults (my OH thought he be nice and tell me
wink.gif
) we would of come in around 4th

Onto the 1.05, i was second to go and was quite pleased that i remembred the course!!

Unfortunatly Fee was still a little forward (guess you cant blame her for wanting to do her job) and being long and flat we had two down.

Over night i had the pleasure of going around the fair, maybe it was the candyfloss that went to my head OR im actually finding an ounce of self belief, but i announced to OH and friends that i would do the 1.05 and the newcomers the next day.

Arrived just in time to walk my course and again everything looked inviting and there wasn't too many questions - Or so i thought

Because she was a little forward the day before i think i rode a little defensively, our canter wasn't great and i had the first down

but i managed to get it together and jumped well to the sixth fence...again my canter was a bit backwards and my line wasn't great, i just dont think she realised it was there! Lets just say - she stopped and i didn't!

I didnt hurt myself (too much

) and as i as booked into the NC i thought i 'd go for it. I walked the course and to be honest it wasn't as big as i thought it would be. I warmed up and concentrated on my canter, and was so pleased that i managed to keep my nerves in check and acually felt confident(ish) to jump my first Newcomers. The first few went really well until the fourth - a big oxer, i got too deep and she stopped
frown.gif
Came again and got it right, it felt awesome! I jumped the rest clear until the last fence and came in a little too quick once again getting far too deep - resulting in another stop and elimination

I was a bit gutted!! But hey ho, managed to get round most of it.

These are from the 1.05 (i forget if it was the sat or sunday!!!)

WELL DONE if you got this far!! And Thanks!

I can't imagine actually wanting to jump a newcomers, so well done for even attempting it. After all, you only got two fences wrong, and the rest right, so I'm sure it will go much better the next time.

Well done,.

WEll DONE YOU

And an extra well done for giving it a go with the NC - NC is big!

You look great in your photos, and like Weezy says very happy, you have a great partnership with your horse

Hey another person who wears a Casco hat! I thought I was the only one!

Don't let the stops put you off, I am currently trying to get over my frustrating stage of interfering rather than sitting there and letting the ned get on with it!

Well done! They do build big at Addington so fantastic result for you both.

They sure do

For some reason Addington courses always look pretty straight forward but rarely prove to be. Number of clears in the first rounds is generally low.

Still comming to play at moulton on sunday?

I'm not sure!! We are jumping the am champ second round on sat at keysoe, and was only going to head to moulton in search of a DC towards my discos, but i looked at the shedule and its a 1m open. So that doesn't count does it??

80cm open then if i survive that without taking out any of the walls then BN followed by 90cm AM first round.

Right will look out for you then. I am doing the British Nervous. If i arrived at about 11.30am would that be about right? Think it takes about an hour from home to get there.

Should be ok. 80cm starts at 10.30 but wouldn't leave it any later. Its generally a quiet venue.
