when we were talking about Chloe's surgery....

"I think you're stupid for having done the surgery. What a waste of money. I would have had her put down. She's only a dog, what some people do for these animals is ridiculous"

I had explained we had insurance.

Beggars belief, some people....
 
My animals mean the world to me and are a big part of my life. Sadly to some people they are "just" animals to be discarded when they are ill or old. I can only hope that the woman has no pets, or if she does that they are blessed with extraordinary good health.
 
I find some peoples' attitude to their animals very depressing. I could see her point if you were just prolonging Chloe's life by a few weeks and there would be no long term benefit in terms of her quality of life but given that she is likely to now have a long and pain-free life because you cared enough to do this I think she deserved a very rude reply :mad:
 
i can believe someone saying that, people are so horrid sometimes.

Our kitten went missing two weeks ago and i have been around the whole neighbourhood putting flyers through doors. At one house the owner was standing in the porch so i handed him a flyer and the conversation went as follows...

me - I've lost my kitten
him - you are supposed to look after them you know
me - he got out by accident, he is only 4 months old
him - you should forget about that one now, there are loads of other kittens, just get a new one

I was really quite upset by him and his idea of just replacing my kitten as it was easier than tyring to search for him! And what was worse was that he owned two cats as they came into the porch while i was there!!
