Do not ride along daydreaming with your reins on the buckle, on a newly clipped Mac, as he will choose that moment to spook at nothing whatsoever and panic gallop down the bridlepath.....
It's my own fault really for letting my guard down, especially as he'd only been clipped this morning!
However, in my defence, he was sold to us as a 110% bombproof novice kick-along.... and he certainly acted that way for the first few months. He's really starting to come out of himself now though, which is lovely. He was really in front of the leg the whole ride today, and I'd rather sit the odd spook and have a forward going horse, than what he was like before... plod, plant, plod, plant and so on lol
