Very busy day today, started early with getting 5 monsters mucked out and on the walker. Molinuex and 4Faulter arrived and kindly took Winston and Bertie to the top field. Winston being his usual stupid self had a good old buck and managed to pull down part of YOs fence
smirk.gif

Anyway, snoopy loaded into the lorry with out much trouble and off we went to Blewbury.
First class was still going on when we arrived so i entered the 85cm Open and the BN (HC) same as last time.
Blewbury is TINY compaired to Addington, but with far less ppl, although there were 48 in the 85cm.
I walked the course and OMG how tight some of those turns
crazy.gif
anyway, only there for a good clear so off I went to warm up. 4Faulter was brilliant as my fence putterupper
wink.gif

So we went in 4th to go, and bless him although green at times (fences come up thick and fast in there) he popped around gaining confidence all the time and jumped double clear
grin.gif

Our time was shockingly slow mainly because i trotted around the corner at one point and through the finish lol but he actually only came 1 second outside the placings lol
About an hours wait till the BN, the course was unchanged, just larger. He jumped well in the warm up albeit far more cocky! and the little git didnt fail me, he was GUNG HO! in the arena and punched out 3 fences AGAIN! due to being bloody minded *snoopy knows best*!
He still jumped well, and 4Faulter did say he wanted us more forward
wink.gif
but i must admit coming over the last fence I had no idea where we would end up!!!
crazy.gif
it was touch and go lol we were going too fast to turn a circle and just headed towards a crowd of kids lol

Anyway we got home within 40 minutes and mum brought in the big fella and i turffed snoopy out in teh field with Bertie.

But OMG poor winston, hes sliced his 2nd thigh so badly
frown.gif
its about 4 inches long, an inch wide and about 1/2 inch deep straight down into the muscle
frown.gif

Poor love nearly fell over having his feet picked out. I can only think he did it when he brought down YOs fence first thing in the morning Arghhh hes such an idiot pony.
So he was banished to bed with painkilers and Molinuex had to ride out on her own
frown.gif
SOB!

So although i was pleased as punched with Snoop, I could have cried seeing Winstons leg. Positive vibes for the big man please. I have the vet coming anyway on tuesday so hopefully they can take a look at it then.

Thanks for reading, will try and put up the vids later...

Christ - poor palony (or big eventer thing, whatever)! Good luck with the vet! Well Done with Snoop.

And Im going to Addington to play groom for a friend this week. Never been before, is it nice?

hi hun, well done to the snoopy man!! Great result, even if he was getting a bit too big for his boots in the higher round!

postive vibes for winnie, i hope his leg gets better soon
frown.gif

Me and the Archie had a fab lesson yesterday, then went for a hack with YO today and went on the road and he was a star
smile.gif
So really chuffed with him.

Was having a great weekend up until i had an awful row with the people who share Bloss (as apparently they cant afford to pay me what they owe) and now im stuck with no sharer and am owed £150 which il probably never get
frown.gif

Sweetie...Ben cut himself at least as bad just on his thigh a few years ago, right thru the fat layer into the muscle. We even had it stitched as it was about 4" long but the stitches wouldn't hold. Healed by sec intention in the end, but hardly a mark on him in the end. I am sure WInston will be the same.

Sounds like a good day on Snoopy though. Does he make more effort when the fences are bigger, Flora def does so have had to start to do bigger classes. Maybe he is the same, or was he a bit blase in the second class because he had already jumped round the course?? Maybe just do the one class rather than two.

Hope Winston is feeling better soon. If you take a photo I can see if it was similar to Ben's, as vet said he had never seen anything like it before, looked like someone had taken a stanley knife to him.

As you say Yay for Snoopy, if you think Blewbury is small you need to go to Rockhampton or Badgworth
grin.gif
. Stupid Winston - I hope he feels better soon, you'l lucky he doesn't need stiching

Poor Winston - he has been "cruising for a bruising" this week anyway, hasn't he?....hope he looks better soon. Well done, Snoopy, clever boy (and he knows it!)

Typical horses.

Well done with Snoop sounds like he is progressing well. Poor Winston hopefully will heal all right. At least the vet can have a nose on Tuesday!

What next for Snoop?

Snoop just loves being in control lol, silly sausage! Thanks hunny.

Oo pleased to hear Arch was a good boy, PM all the details please
smile.gif

Arghh (((hugs))) with Bloss, so frustrating and disappointing too, im sure theres someone who would like to loan her
smile.gif

Sounds similar F. Im sure it will be fine, he seems to be acting pretty sensible this evening *i live in hope*
May just need some anti-biotics, did think they may need to sew it, but i think it would be best left to drain imo!
Ive flushed it out with steri strips and sprayed some good cut/heel like stuff into it and fingers x.

As for snoop, he needs things to be very spooky to back him off and make him get into the air. He is much better jumping bigger tracks, but as 4faulter will confirm he tends to land and shoot off, i also need to ride him much more round the corners (which i can do better at addington) but in the smaller arena at Blewbury i tend to hold him more because he is inclined to shoot through his shoulder
smirk.gif
its all basic flat work really, he love jumping and is very enthusiastic which is great, but its costing him clear rounds because of his bold/opinionatedness.

We have xc schooling next week....wish us luck

poor winston, fingers crossed hes ok

Fanks chick. Will pass on your best wishes to Winston in the morning. Not that he really does deserve them, being such a pillock at his age
smirk.gif
but Mr Froggy eyes did look very sad this evening.

Well done Snoops! Poor Winnie! We went SJ today and unfortunately had one down. He hadn't touched a pole warming up but rolled the last fence when his plank of a rider (me) thought he'd taken the wing of the previous fence out with his right foot and looked back. Looked up and the last fence was right there!!!

I think if i remember rightly when i saw Boss' video at Badgworth that did look small lol.
Theres another show at blewbury in a couple of weeks which i may go to, failing that, solihull, Markfield or weston lawns i think is on YOs list lol

Im pretty sure that it doesnt need stitching, it was difficult as the top bit had mud in it but the big open fleshy wound was clear. I ran the tap over the top of the leg so clean water would flush it out as much as possible, and i know if i tried picking the mud off around the wound i would have been booted from here to the next county!
It began to look much drier when we left for home at 5pm so fingers x it stays that way. I just didnt think covering it would do it any good tbh! but i can imagine its gonna be a stonking size in the morning

Thank you SJ. He really was a star in the first round, even if it was bloody spooky, dark and dingy! he just kept on a jumping. Im thinking he may need to upgrade now and do BN and Disc cos nothing really backs him off atm - cos he finds it easy ARGH
We are off xc schooling *first attempt* next saturday at MKEC - so wish us luck
crazy.gif

How was your weekend away? want to know how it went please
smile.gif

Arghh you muppet! its never over until you cross that finish line!
Snoop didnt touch a pole in the warm up (rarely does anyway) but didnt stop him belting the flanks but thankfully they didnt fall PHEW!
Great news tho for you, your confidence is really coming back
smile.gif
well done sweets.
Any more dressage comps lined up?

Was out yesterday and got 2 3rds, but scores weren't great. Out again in a couple of weeks (local for 1 test) and then the following week to do 2. Tending to find that with P being a TB some judges mark what they see in front of them and finding some judges just don't like him at all - which shouldn't really be happening at BD, but this is the impression we get from the test sheets!

Really enjoying the jumping again - not planning on eventing but if I can get him out and jumping clear I may do some Discovery's with him over the summer - we'll see! Oh, and R has finally admitted defeat and said that we can have another pony in the next few months!!! He's getting a pay rise in April and we'll be finished paying a loan off!!! Yay!!! So gonna be looking for a good all-rounder!

PS Just heard that my team came 6th overall out of 26 teams!!!

HAHA finally!!! (R and 2nd horse) thats great news
grin.gif

Oh you should do some BSJA with P, be so good for you both.

Ahh two 3rds is nothing to be sniffed at! thats great. Well done.

Definately a yah and a sob day.
Firstly - i hope the big fella isn't too bad.
secondly - Go Snoops! He really is improving all the time isn't he? That 'know it all' attitude will come in handy one day
wink.gif

Just before I broke my collar bone I had jumped a few BN's and Discovery's on a ticket -the woman who actually now runs our yard ran a BSJA venue (she sort of owned it). I would like to get him to the point now that I can take him out and be confident he's going to go clear- it's all been down to his canter and the fact that I wasn't riding it forward enough.

Have a couple of horses in mind - one who belongs to a forum member (you know who - if you don't PM me!!!) and another is a 6 yr old TBxShire that belongs to te sister of someone we know, but not sure whether she'll jump much, but is doing very well with dressage and should go quite a way (according to a young dressage rider down your way who she spent last summer with). Also would consider another TB from where we got P. Haven't got masses of money to spend, but don't want a 4* or Grade A or PSG horse, just a nie allrounder that will go to medium dressage And SJ up to 1.10m (if I'm brave). Got the number of the guy u got Snoops from as well, but don't really want anything too young as we haven't really got the time to put into a green youngster.
laugh.gif

Well your titles always sum up your weekend activies perfectly. YAY for the snoop please come to Solihull then you are nice and local so I can come and watch you jump te snoop lol!

Darn it Winston he sounds like a bit of a handful at the moment V? Naughty boy I hope his heals himself back together alright.

Hb

Thanks everyone.
Update on winston...
Hes very bright this morning *maybe the bute kicking in* the wound was a bit runny over night but not too bad. He insisted on going on the walker and he marched around there for 30 minutes to stretch his legs.
I would love to turn him out but i know he will roll and get it really dirty
frown.gif

Hes not keen on bute whatsoever! so is picking at his food
smirk.gif
but i hosed his leg and applied more spray.
Vets coming tomorrow for annual injections so can take a look at it then.

Oh noooo ! Poor Winston
frown.gif
Hope he's okay soon and it's nothing more than superficial
smile.gif

Good old Snoop though
smile.gif
Perhaps you should ditch the smaller class and go straight for the BN next time....then at least you'd have your first DC
wink.gif
You might find he's a one class horse lol!

hi hunni sorry to hear about the big man, thats horses for you!!
Well done on snoop, def think you should get out and jump some bigger tracks to back him off!! cheeky boy he is.

Good luck for this weekend, wish i could come play but got to judge dressage comp at friends yard!! Drilled the pants off Bud with trainer on saturday trying to get his dressage better man it's hard work!

Yep spoke to YO this morning, Snoop will be registered this week and the plan is to jump straight out at BN now.
Apparently whilst YO was out in Germany this weekend, they all watched my vids from Addington, the clear round before xmas and our BSJA debut and they were all very impressed with how hes coming on....i got the German seal of approval
shocked.gif

Rambo, i guess if he is a one class horse it would be bloody cheaper lol but i have a feeling I only like competing at BIG ARENA shows lol that was too bloody tight for GUNG HO Snoop lol

Arghh Cullo, you should be coming to play SOB
frown.gif
I def think Snoop has Buds cheekyness lol

GO SNOOPY! He sounds like such a superstar! You must be well chuffed.

Poor Winston. Hope he is ok. I'm sure it will heal up nicely, especially if it looked ok this morning. Fingers crossed.
