Whenever there is a discussion on overweight ponies/horses, everyone always says the words 'show condition'. I don't go to many shows but the brat pony gets taken to a little local show every year just for the novelty classes with my friend's 5 year old kid, to have an outing and a day of fun.

To my horror, I now know what the words 'show condition' actually mean, having been in the same class as the winning pony, who won 2 classes and got placed in the top 6 of 'judges choice'. I don't care if brat pony gets placed (we try our hardest in fancy dress:D) as all that matters is the kid gets a rosette, doesn't matter what colour it is so it's not jealously! However I did get angry yesterday when I wanted to know what justified the grossly overweight pony, with a crest of about 4 inches, a tiny head on an elephant body and a rippling bum did to deserve 2 wins (whether novelty classes or not) including handsomest gelding?!? I'm guessing the chubba chops owner leading it round probably made it look normal size.

Rant over.
