AAAAAARG!! Dressage test is quick fire... but Prelim!!

OK so got an unaffiliated dressage comp 2moz. Only doing prelim 10 and 14. Learnt 10 in like five minutes but 14 is soooo fast i keep losing my place!

does anyone have any tips on remembering a rapid fire test?? i know i sound like a complete twit because its only prelim but its hard 2 remember

I've only been doing dressage since April. Have you got anyone who can call for you or do they have a caller at the venue? I find I can remeber the prelims now but struggle with the novices! I'm doing P10 this weekend too

Tests are usually fairly symmetrical - learn the shape and it usually repeats.

Sometimes I lay out a mini-arena on the kitchen floor and walk around it. That seems to help link things together.

When I have two to learn I always learn the second one first. Then put that away and concentrate completely on the first one. After the first test has finished I pick up the second sheet and just refresh my memory a bit.

I also find trotting round the living room helps to log it into my simple brain! I still managed to forget to do the 2-5 walk steps in Prelim 14!

used to run around the garden when i was younger competition was yesterday and thankfully remembered the tests

and we were 2nd in the prelim 10 and 1st in the prelim 14
