I officially ride my Mare in our first XC Competition ( not hers ! ) .... As some of you know had massive confidence blip last year & way more experienced rider has been helping....
So I rode her XC last weekend over our first full course which I posted about & yard xc phase of Mini ODE is tomorrow, about 18 or so in my section... Posted a 70.3 stressage & 4 faults SJ so am well placed at the moment but tomorrow is about personal goals being met NOT rosettes...
Todays lesson didnt start very well at all, I rode like well a complete Plonker over first XC Round & got eh lifted out of it by my instructor which hasn;t happened in a very long time but as it turns out the roasting did the job lol!!! Was a totally different rider , way more positive for second round & was a pilot as opposed to a passenger, got the " Right Canter " which meant I could feel her stride a heck of alot more & because of that I was able to go with her even when she decided to balloon some ... ( her party piece ) - then at end of lesson we went down to practice newly constructed bank - Its BIG ( well for me it is , about 9ft or so ) on a steep slope.... ok so going up was grand but Froze when asked to come down it, was totally terrified my mare was going go down one stride & jump off ( she can sometimes be a bit too brave ) but NO - she was great & looked after me, leaving it until we were 75% down to jump off lol, after I did it once I was fine
So positive vibes for tomorrow please
24 fences in it - just going to be very positive & ride every stride... heres hoping I can do my mare & myself justice...
