I've been doing a fair bit of work recently on getting Hovis to keep a nice steady pace whilst I'm in jumping position (he was seeming to get worried when my weight came out of the saddle and speed up). As a result i've been riding with jumping length stirrups.
Last night I was working on halt to trot transition and getting a really nice square halt so i dropped my stirrups back to normal length and discovered my right leg has a mind of its own......
In fairness it has been pointed out before but last night it was horrific. It's almost "ticking" like a hand of a clock against his side and I can't stop it! Its far far worse in rising trot not so bad in sitting. It must feel like i'm nagging him constantly but no matter what my brain told my leg to do it seemed to be ingorning it!
Any suggestions on how to stop it other than amputation gratefully received!
