to cut a long story short. I used to rent a field a few miles away from my house and i arranged to have my mobile stables taken there which the field owner agreed to. 6 months later a field closer to home became avalible so i took it leaving my stable's behind. The man has been really awkward ever since refusing to let me have access to my stables. I went there today and his horses have damaged the stables and he is ranting over me poaching his fields in the wet weather and i have agreed to wait until we get nice weather to move them. THEN today he shouted at me i wasnt allowed to move the stables unles i payed him £5 a week for having them there.he never stated this in the begginning and he threatened me aswell.his horses have ruined my stables.what do i do?? i am going to seek legal advice asap.

exactly.he has no right to charge me for the stables being there. I should claim for damages to the stables by his horses. He clearly stated when i bought the stables there he wasnt going to charge me for them.

I had actually sold the stables and had a man come to pick them up but the owner of the field then became awkward so the seller was put off.i am so annoyed and peed off.he has no right to charge me for them at all.

I have told the man who owns the field i am takin the stables with me so and he had agreed he was going to move them closer to the road so i could pick them up.i dont see what his problem is surely if i was takin them from there they would be gone

I agree with kerilli

I hardly think thats the solution, they were brand new when i had them.it makes me so mad how his horses can damage my stables and yet he wants money off me.well im not paying him a penny,

What agreement did you have with him re leaving your stables when you terminated the field rental contract and was it in writing?

I would advise caution before confronting him and would get legal advice as you suggest.

But who would in their right minds put stables on someone elses land and not expect trouble when as I can make out you broke the agreement. If I was the landowner, I'd be spitting fire. From the sounds of it he'd allowed you to put mobile stables up what was the tenancy agreement.

I asked him to get a written contract and he never.i then questioned him a few days later as to why he didnt get a contract and he said there was no need for one.so i was stuck.the plan was to either sell or move the stables myself but with the weather wet weather we have been having i can hardly move stables across a wet field and give him something to moan about.I did offer him the stables for a sensible price but he said no.they are my stables i shouldnt have to pay for them to be there and im going to seek legal advice and move them from there asap.he is just trying to be awkward and make money for himself.its all greed

I am not paying him a penny.he just wants money and is being greedy. They are my stables not his. and he agreed that i would take them or sell them.but as the weather has been so bad iv not been able to move them.

plus he has had enough money in livery. And the amount of favours iv done for him looking after his horses while he has been away i think he has got a cheek to ask for money.i could turn around and tell him i want paying for looking after his horses but i havent.

I can understand you not paying to store them there, you rented the field and he agreed you could put up mobile stables. If you would be willing to sell them, can you pm me a price please. ( I am in your area, and know where they are, what the situation is etc) thanks.
