Absolutely no words.
Well, no words I can type here.

Yet another K9 GSD has died of heatstroke in a vehicle. Utterly inexcusable & unforgivable especially after all they give for us, so willingly.

If nothing else comes of this poor dog losing his life so needlessly,if one, just ONE person stops & thinks, it may make a difference.

Even with the windows down it still gets so hot even a few measley minutes can lead to a fatality.
If I ever see a dog in a vehicle on a hot day, Police vehicle or not, I wouldn't wait till it was in real trouble..worry about the consequences after-you can fix smashed windows after all. Sorry to rant but as you may have guessed, I'm ever so slightly unhappy about this.

Rest in peace Spartacus x

silly fb! thank you CC! will try edit yours into my link ..his pic /story were on the FOX thingy fb page& details were on the photo...I just got some womans tummy with a weigh tape round it when i looked again...thats a different thread altogether!

Temperature is playing silly wotsits here at the moment. Mine go into their crate at the back of the car when I ride so back door, windows etc can stay open. However when I was playing around to check this I found it still too warm for my liking (car shaded as well.) I now soak a towel and lay it over the top of the crate which makes the temperature normal.

However, and this is my long winded point, I am really aware of just how quickly cars heat up and retain the temperature and one slightly open window does not cut it on a warm or muggy day. This is a jeep, with 4 windows down, roof open and back door open and I still wouldn't leave them in there when its warm.
