and gone on a spree. My OH told me 3 times last week that the credit card company had phoned trying to get in touch with me and it was important so could I phone them back. I thought oh it will be some balance transfer deal or something so didn't bother. Then a letter comes through from them about some suspect transistions so I checked online statement this morning and someone has been buying plane tickets to America the lot with my card - it's now in the hands of the fraud team and I'll get all my money back but honestly people watch out. I am always really careful about online transactions and actually destroyed this card sometime ago (so as not to be tempted by using it) but it just shows you. The cheek of some people - he'd spent almost 5k already despite the credit card company declining a lot of transactions as well.

As long as you get your money back that is the main thing. Poor you, it feels rather unwholesome having somebody stealing your details like that. It hasn't happened to me... yet. Hope it never does.

that's why I don't use my debit card anymore as the money is gone from your account straight away whereas a credit card it's 'vapour' and only have to worry about interest payments until the card fraud team sort things out

Happened to me a while ago, I was given a new card and a phone number to ring if anything suss turned up in future, well something did (transfered from the old card along with the legit payments) so I phoned up and some snotty cow told me I had to pay for it cos I'd authorised it over the phone - when they'd told me I'd be getting a new card! I kept telling her I had not authorised payments for train tickets in England and slammed the phone down cos she just kept repeating "you authorised all transactions from Nov 3rd onward" (which I flipping well had not), then she sent me a letter saying the same thing, and wrote "without prejudice" on it. She's wrong, and she fecing knows it, but she's making sure I can't get her into any trouble for it.

Poor you, I got my debit card details stolen last year and I ended up £600 overdrawn, it was a NIGHTMARE getting it back

I hope you get sorted quicker than I did!

I had my Debit Card details cloned and had someone spending money in Italy! I check my Bank account daily and Barclays spotted it before me and I got it all back no problem. They declined several transactions of over £200, one at £150 did go through but was refunded within 14 days.
