Im looking for a new/used lorry but I'll be blown if I can find one under £20k that is a tilt cab WITHOUT lockers in the horse area !!

Does anyone have any idea where else I can look?
Ive done Ebay/Horsemart/HorseQuest/Horsedates/Freeads and H&H (which has a pants search facility by the way)...

Its doing my head in !!

erm,.....think you are looking in all the right places.
We have a loovely lorry from thorpe horseboxes....may be worth googling them/ringning to see what they have?

We had one built a few years ago now and their prices have gone up a LOT but they get in second hand ones etc and have always been helpful and must admit out box is built very well

They dont tilt though do they? I did go over there to look at the Eventer but theyve now over £30k and they didnt tilt..

I saw one on ebay but the company building them was advertising it at one price but admitted on the phone that they would not be selling it at that price. What a con...

Theres a lorry for sale at my yard atm. Its a 7.5t and its tilt cab and has no lockers that go into the horse bit - I assume thats what you mean lol.

I know they were asking £5k for it but are happy to drop on that price, can get details later if you want.

Lol no problem. If I hear of anything else I will let you know.

Have to say I have a Thorpe and I love it. They dont tilt but my garage says that with the newer lorries its not really an issue and they have the horse area as a horse area.

Good luck.

yeh they dont, but tbh when we were looking we fund very very few that did. Our mechanic has no problem at all with accessing our engine in ours.

My mechanic is a real primadona and wont do keyhole surgery (as he calls it). Its a tilt.... or a new mechanic *rolls eyes*

(This man is a good friend of OH and saves us a fortune every year so we are having to mollycoddle him)

No help to you but had a lorry built last year and specifically did not want lockers in the horse area. The locker we have is in our living accessed from outside - the top of it makes a lovely work surface! Makes so much more room in the horse area. . Good luck with your looking.

oh right i see!!!

well we basically have a cover which forms part of a seat between the cab and living which unscrews and you can see the whole engine:)

I'm selling my wagon (well it's with the people who built it - they are selling it on my behalf). I think it's a tilt cab and there are no lockers in the horse bit (just in the skirts underneath). It's a lovely wagon - very smart, new conversion in 2006. Only for sale to dissolve a partnership and I wanted a 3.5t. It's a lovely drive, very reliable - we're a bit far from you but might be worth a trip if you're struggling?

Here's the ad on Horsemart:

PM me if you want any more details (I don't do the technical stuff though ) or ring the manufacturers direct.
