there is a story on the news page about this. Go Germany. I read all the comments on the subject a few days ago but i cannot help but feel the aachen authorities are right because where do you draw the line. especially with isoxuperine.

I think they are making the correct stand. How can any sport allow ' a degree' of bute. IMO if something needs ' help' to perform its not fit enough to compete and you then get into the minefield of how much is too much, its very subjective and could lead to never ending dispute etc. It also goes against the grain of having a clean sport with everyone on an equal footing.

I hope they are the first of other centres taking a stand.

yes and I keep feeling sorry for the people at he olympics. I read all the threads on here dilligently about that and if all those people were disqualified for a miniscule amount of something not proved to do any of the things they said and certainly not in the quantites found, how can the FEI allow these other drugs which absolutely do mask pain or whatever.

Absolutely wonderful news, we have to have 'clean sport', this ruling at the FEI under PH had just been bulldozed through by the sounds of it and so many delegates were very against it.
I hope the whole thing gets overturned and goes back to zero tolerance with regard to Bute.

Why was PH so determined to get this passed so quickly? And why is she so adamant that there will not be a revote?

Hubby is probably awaiting the results of a drug test on one of his horses. Not that I'm cynical, gosh no.

Is the FEI now PH's own personal "governing body"???

Yep you can deffo BSJA on Bute. It has been said that giving a horse a single bute is like us having an asprin...if this is true then fine, but if it is used to stop a horse showing it's pain, it is wrong. Contencious subject.

The RDS also I believe have their own rules for the Dublin show and the qualifiers for it which do not permit bute.

The SJAI only permit bute for aged ponies and also for horses in ' amateur' classes with I think a letter from their vet.

Well done Aachen for holding their position.
