AAD BBQ

Yeah but what she is saying is what the satnav instructs and the directions u give will look nothing like the destination of which we arrive:rolleyes::D neither of us are any good with these things, we will bebale to locate Mcdonalds and important things like that:o

He might have to share with Tyson :D Yes have 2 possibly 3 spare kennels, I think as we have a few with attitude problems (including mine possibly:o) we may just have to be sensible and have a bit of a rota rather than a mad free for all. I am hoping the resident vet will be about but don't think she will want to be patching up dogs who have been scrapping. :p

Tyson has promised he's going to behave :p

I was just thinking we need to be a bit more organised with food lists. Trouble is I will get half way through and will lose internet again. Is there any chance whoever the button pusher could give Stripysocks chance to organise this?
Oh and well I am on here, I have said to some people but not all, could you all aim to arrive 4pm onwards, gives me time to get back from work and also means we don't have to bring horses in too early for the night.

Quick synopsis so far..... (someone had better quote this before the post bloody disapears!)

Toffee44 - sausages, "so co and lemonade" (OK, I am very old, what on earth is so co? )

Cayla - anti-migraine/anti-nausea tablets

SlinkyUnicorn - coleslaw, potato salad, bacon for morning

Lady La La - alcohol

Blackcob - Pimms/lemonade/fruit/plastic cups, vegetarian pasta salad

Hound of the Sea - veggie burgers and cheesecake (hint: I love cheesecake )

Annette4 - veggie sausages

Meeee - ummm.... not sure yet, any ideas?

As MM has already said, we had WAY too much food last year so dont think you are being stingy if you dont bring much, we all took shedloads home last year

ETA - sorry, I wanted to add, I really was joking about organisation, I think MM is absolutely awesome for hosting us for a second year and she deserves a medal! I am just bossy and OCD about organisation...

Just in case. :p

It's Southern Comfort you twit. :p

For the record I also love cheesecake. ;)

I can bring more than just alcohol! What food do we need? I'm also bringing a husband who is a dab hand at cooking quietly on bbq's with minimal fuss - i think this is the greatest gift of all :D

Put me down for home reared pork sausages & beer.

What else are we short of? Shall I bring some bread rolls, nibbles, another pudding, fruit? What's most popular with people?

Picked up a little 8 week old border terrier at the weekend, who is driving me & Dylan mad this evening - he'd fit perfectly in a finger roll if anyone's interested! Will try to get OH to post some pics for me, but he's working away this week.

Lady la la's husband duly volunteered for bbq, my son won't be about this year to do it I don't think, in fact I only realised a couple of weeks ago he comes back from Austria that day, have had to delegate picking him up! :o
I'll get some charcoal in, and bread for bacon butties etc. I'll sort out ice for Pimms too.
I think davisn was bringing sausages too.

Aargh, there you go, whilst the hamster is pedalling away on the internet connection most of what I have said has already been covered. :)

What would everyone like me to bring? Cake? Sausages / some form of meat to throw on the BBQ? Fizzy drinks / fruit juice for those not drinking / for sunday morning?

Just let me know and I will geet what I can :D

This is assuming we get there in one piece / Cayla doesnt kill me on the way :o

Betsy already has the border terrier sarnies covered:cool:

I'm on it! Bs need doing but she will not let me without a fight and im not confident enough at it to do it mid struggle. Bl*ody dogs.

I thought non alcoholic drinks would be a good idea, or there could be wine for brekki!

What about some pizzas, cooked, allowed to go cold, then sliced. I will also bring a Pepsi and a lemonade for us drivers :) our other thought was garlic bread.

Pizza and garlic bread sound good. I can always heat the bread in the oven. I will dig out some plastic cutlery as we have coleslaw etc, could get a bit messy otherwise. I'll have plenty of milk and coffee for brekki if anyone prefers that to wine! One thing I forgot to say, if you all have space can you stick yourself a chair of some sort in your vehicles, I only have 2 or 3.
Now have a new router installed so am hoping I will be able to maintain internet contact, no guarantee though.

I dont mind bringing more. Let me know as long as I can get it in supermarket. I will just buy stuff nearer you as nothings gonna taste nice after 5 hours in the car lol.
I wont be getting to yours until about 6ish.

MM is there anything me and Lauren need to bring and could people give times for arrival otherwise we will be standing like 2 GNF's or we will arrive when all have departed:o
In regard to warm drinks....I take it you have ice cubes MM?;):D if not I will try and bring a cooler box thingy with ice.....Im not a drinker but if I decided to I could not down a warm drink:o

So far I have 2 plastic wine glasses (both L's) she drink alots that one:rolleyes: and 2 chairs LMAO:D:D well prepared or what? oh and she has a tent, but neither of us know how to put one up, so maybe arriving 5 hours early may help there:o

So.....what do we bring food/drink wise?
I have wipped up a 1st aid bandage kit for K9's or piss head humans if need be:rolleyes:

LOL at the first aid kit! I have been lent a fairly large tent that I have no idea how to erect as well! Mind you, I still dont know if I am coming, I have managed to raise 40 quid cash so far for a grooming job but rather slackly instead of trying raise funds I have spent the last 2 days decorating my lounge! :p I've got your address MM, I will either turn up and suprise you all or not! :D

I've said preferably not before 4pm arrival, or you will find yourselves catching in grumpy horse before you can go in field! Last year I think most people arrived between 5 & 6. I was just thinking tonight that it went dark around 9.30 pm, and a bit chilly, so we will probably all end up in the house for an hour or two, altho I may be a meany this year and ban dogs as I have a new carpet. I have loads of ice Cayla, bought a big bag from Iceland (where else!).
First aid kit sounds good, I'm ashamed to say I probably have a better first aid kit for animals than for humans. I think food is fairly well covered, has anyone said they will bring paper plates, if not that might be a good thing, I'm not washing up!
Vizslak, had given up hope of you making it, will keep fingers crossed for that surprise!

Oh and should probably say, after being really stressed last year about everyone coming I have been very chilled this time, so haven't done much housework, particularly as yesterday got 200 odd bales of hay in so far too knackered. So apologies in advance for the state of the place, the cobwebs are to keep the flies down. :)
