Forgive me if this is obvious but just looking on horsemart and these people seem to have some nice horse but they look significantly cheaper than the market price. Has anyone bougth from them? Just wondering as I was perusing horsemart and they keep popping up when I search but I'm usually a bit wary of trade adverts. Feel free to PM.

Thanking you

I rang up about a horse they had on Horsemart and the horse had several things wrong that were not mentioned in the advert. Infact the horse sounded nothing like what they had put in the advert?! But as you said their horses are very cheap!

Yeah, I kind of guessed it might be you get what you pay for! But everytime I search (as I'm up north) they pop up with some nice looking and sounding horses within my budget!! I'm always a bit of a snob about trade adverts (even though I used to work for a very good dealer!) but these just kept appearing!

if your near enough and are seriously looking, i would suggest going for a nosey! they cant be something wrong with all of them. Must admit some of their horses do look nice :O they always seem to have a varied lot in.

Hi,

I got my cob from them nearly a year ago, he had a few little quirks, but I was made aware before I brought him, and they are old news now. He just needed some patience and a firm hand.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend if you know what you're looking for and are realistic about your ability. Not because I think anybody would try to mislead you, just because the horses won't have been there forever, and no dealer always knows the full history about everything on their yard!

I know some would disagree, but Michelle wouldn't even let people she didn't think would cope with my cob try him! And was very honest about everything I considered, positive and negative points!

Dobbin which cob did you buy???

OP - known Michelle years, shes honest about the horses, good that she tells you good and bad stuff as alot of dealers wont! Go have a look, she doesnt mind how many times you go, you can try them in the menage, hacking, stable - anything you like and she does try to find history for them :-) Hope that helps.

The one that had a bad experience - what happened that was so bad? Am surprised issues havent been resolved to be honest as Michelle usually does her best to resolve stuff - know when friends have bought from her.

I brought Wellie, hes fab! And just to clarify, when I say quirks, he isn't a maneater.. His minimal faults are as follows!

Would kick (and meant it!) if you tried to brush his legs - was a constant issue now only very occasional, and getting better but he had had mites and has a lot of feather.

He appears to have been ridden by somebody who has chased him about, and manhandled him a bit. He used to rush forward when you put your leg on, fine if you ignore it and don't tense up. Would possibly have become an issue if he was ridden by somebody nervous.

You cannot ride him and get any sense out of him carrying a whip.. Not an issue as he is a nice forward going honest chap.

But he is as completely bombproof/Trafficproof as any horse gets, and just wants to please so once he understood what right is, it hasn't taken long. He is also good to clip, shoe, load etc.. jumps and hacks anywhere.
