Abit of a scabby face.... possibly rain scald?

My boy has a slight scabby face, it’s not bleeding or looking sore, but it looks rough and when you brush it the fur comes away. I’ve never dealt with rain scald before and looking at some pics google I think it could be this?? And equine America magic mud has been recommended or fungatrol cream.
ps also seems to be abit itchy but not overly.
Any advice??

My mare had something odd on her face. Tried a few things and it cleared up with an anti fungal anti bacterial wash from the vet. Get the vet out so you know what you’re dealing with and can treat accordingly.

Try some t gel shampoo from the chemist

Mine get this at the end of summer they look like multiple bites, I wash with medicated shampoo every few days and put some benzyl benzoate on it as long as the skin is not broken, if it is broken and sore I use flamazine.

have you been using a fly spray on the face at all, that could look similar to rain scald

If you want to use a cream I can recommend the Lincoln Muddy Buddy. No idea what the active ingredient is but it clears up rainscald and mud fever in days.
