Now would I be a Kentish lass, or a lass of Kent?

Since I was a small girl, 20 odd years, it's been preached and preached again...

Do NOT feed wild new forest ponies - or they'll attack you!

So, 20 years pass, my poor grandmother gets abused by people who refuse to stop feeding the ponies when she (as a local) politely asks them to stop....

And now people wonder why the ponies are attacking them.

No sympathy for th victims, it's totally self inflicted. New Forest ponies are wild animals - you wouldn't humanise a lion and let it go, so stop humanising wild ponies, and children won't get hurt.

Thank heaven's the BBC was sensible enough to hit home it's all their own fault - otherwise they'd be clamering for the poor animals to be removed!!

good point, well made

The thing that annoys me is the numpties that stop in their cars and encourage the various livestock (mostly ponies and donkeys) to come to them for titbits. I don't care if they are bitten or kicked but I hate the fact that this encourages the animals to approach all cars and hang about on the roads. I was driving along the other day and slowed down as there were donkeys ahead and they made a beeline even though I was still moving.

I went to the New Forest over 10 years ago and was shocked how 'tame' the ponies where. There's people playing cricket here!

ETA We didn't feed or encourage the ponies.
