I have two parrots and they are kept in the kitchen. At night our heating goes off and I wonder if it may be getting too cold for them.

Does anyone know about/keep parrots, this is my first winter and I am not sure if I should be covering their cages or providing extra heating for them.

My aunties parrot is in the kitchen with no heating on but there is an aga over the other side and dogs which would keep the place warmer! We've always put a cover over his cage at night so he knows it's time to be quiet!

I'd think if you find the kitchen not too cold in the morining i wouldn't worry but perhaps put a cover over their cages at night?

Drafts are a thing to watch out for with birds.
But unless there is a reall temp drop at night I wouldn't be too concerned.
I cover mine at night just to get some peace & quiet

but it would keep them warmer as well.
You'll know if they're cold as the hunch up & fluff up their feathers.

Our parrot is in the dining room/kitchen and heating goes off at 11pm - her cage is covered with 2 blankets with just a small gap for air to circulate. She is fine and like bearhuggz said - the fluff up if cold/poorly.
