So, like many others, I've been having saddle issues that have left me nearly tearing my hair out!
The saga started when I bought my lovely boy and with him, his personalised WOW jump/gp saddle which is perhaps the comfiest thing ever! However, problems started when he lost weight (believe me, he needed it, he was a podge!
. )
We realised his saddle no longer fit when he started to run out at jumps and refuse, which he NEVER does! we had his back checked and it was quite painful in the wither area and also just behind where the saddle sat.
Now, if we lived in England (or anywhere else really
) we'd call up the nearest WOW saddle fitter and bobs your uncle it would be all fixed but we dont have a "normal" saddle fitter over here, let alone a WOW saddle fitter, so I set about on my quest for a new saddle! (i kept my WOW as it was just too pretty to sell
)
My quest took a while as Fatty pony needs quite a short saddle (16" is about max) and i was a bit loath to order a saddle off the interwebs when i couldnt try it first. I finally found someone selling a saddle that fit, trialed it for the weekend and my trainer checked it over, all was well and off we toddled with our new saddle!
So, fast forward 3 months and said new saddle no longer fits and im having to get him checked with a chiro that is thankfully out this week! So I need to find yet another bloody saddle and this time it will have an exchangeable gullet!
Were moving to England soon and I just keep telling myself "2 months and I can get a saddle fitter and a properly fitted saddle," its like my mantra
Please tell me other people have issues like this as I feel like such a bad owner having not noticed sooner when both saddles didnt fit
