So my boy lost a front shoe on Wednesday. No problem. Booked farrier to pop in ASAP to put shoe back on. He seemed a little footsore last night but no big deal. Well this morning he was hoping lame. Hoof hot to touch and swelling around the coronary band and fetlock. Had the farrier out tonight and he had a dig around but couldn't find anything. He's very sore with the hoof tester. Going to soak in warm water and salts, then poultice.

Would anyone like to join me in a puss dance ??

How's he gone today in the arena BBP?
He’s back to walking normally which is a huge relief. But still a bit subdued, so I’m keeping an eye on him. He’s showing none of the abscess signs mentioned here and I think that was a bit wishful thinking as my gut was screaming he was having a neuro episode. I’ve never seen a horse do what he was doing, bent to the left and sort of falling to the right which meant he was banging into things as his head would go through the gap but his body was over to the right.
