I have been living here in Italy for 20 odd years and although I have always realised that their horsesense/manship (talking about the plebs here) was/is pretty dire, I never expected to hear this on an equine forum.

questo natale mi hanno regalato la martingala!!!sono felicissima solo che...non ho idea di come metterla!!
mi spiego meglio..in maneggio sono abituata a mettere martingale di quelle con il pettorale da attaccare alla sella ecc...quella che mi hanno regalato però è il modello con il collare e non so come regolarmi sulla larghezza ecc..infatti alla misura più piccola gli sta tutta penzoloni sul petto!!!
di solito in maneggio l'altro modello lo mettiamo abbastanza aderente al corpo del cavallo...allora la mia è troppo grande, la devo cambiare??
scusate l'ignoranza inoltre volevo sapere se l'utilità di entrambi i modelli è la solita..grazie in anticipo!!!e scusate se può esistere già un altro topic in proposito ma non riesco a trovarne!!!!!

Basically, someone has been given a 'running martingale' for xmas and doesn't know how to fit it. Sad thing is, no one else seems to know either!!!!!
I want to go and bash my head off a brick wall................
 
hilarious - what is more amusing I find is why one would buy a gadget for someone who doesn't even know if they need it!
 
If it weren’t so sad it would be laughable! I lived for two years in Italy and it didn’t surprise me in the slightest. If it were the latest accessory from Salvatore Ferragamo or Roberto Cavalli they’d know exactly what to do with it! Tale è vita!!

the problem is that the majority of Italian horse owners are in fact 'confused'. The poor bloody horses are terrorised by their ignorance.

Thats awful, I think because I haven't seen the horsemanship or lack of it over there I can't comment on it :-). You should reply back on the other forum if you haven't already telling them what to do
