Took Porridge to Cotswold Farm Park fun ride today with 3 friends - firstly we looked VERY smart, 4 16.2hh, 1 dapple grey, 1 beautiful dun, 1 skewbald and P - we were the best looking group there (only slightly biased
)
Anyway, got on and the first thing I thought was "ohhhhhhhhh crap" as P was VERY on her toes and I had the mildest loose ring in her. She plays a lot with her mouth and opens her mouth wide and tries to get the bit under her tongue if allowed (I won't close her mouth with a noseband as she has to learn NOT to do this and a flash strap makes her lean). So off we went, had a long trot, popped a couple of fences and I was a bit
but figured there was no point in pulling, she would settle. And settle she did, so long as she was with Casper, the grey, who she had fallen head over heels in love with LOL. It is a long ride, took us 2 hours, over 60 jumps, of which I reckon we jumped 40+ and only missed out the ones that a) looked boggy and b) I was feeling too out of control to attempt as she was so busy watching Caspers bum I wasn't getting the check I wanted to into them.
It was a fantastic ride and I would urge anyone in the area to go. It wasn't ridiculously busy either, we didn't get held up at all, the going was SUPERB and I didn't stop grinning the whole way round (which was noted by my group LOL).
Jumped the log where the photographer was so hopefully a pic will follow
Oh, P travelled there fine but she was a bit iffy as we started the journey home because she was too busy calling for Casper
Once we were on our way though she was fine, although she did arrive back sweated up
