Posting on behalf of someone: Please please please looking for a mare with milk...our mare who foaled last night is having real problems and may not survive...her bouncing foal is another matter and may need a new mummy. please call me with all suggestions much appreciated nicola mcgivern 07768 893103 we have tried joanna vardon with not much luck so far

Check the foaling bank section on the horsequest website. Otherwise, try and find someone with some frozen colostrum if poss. I think skimmed milk and honey can be used as milk replacement if desperate. Best of luck, Im sure youll find a mare somewhere xx

Hi you can get some anintree milk replacer if the worst happens. if it does come to that which I hope it does not then you will need a foster mare. Jonna is your bets bet and it may take time.

If they do have to hand feed the foal then a little often is far better than a lot less often! (that is every 45min, remember when mum is around the milk barr is always open)

Good luck and best wishes.

Ring the vets in your area, they will be the first to know of a mare, or trry bigger studs and maybe twemlows. I'm sure there is also a newmarket adoption/fostering company.
Be lucky

Thank you everyone for all your good wishes and support .....Naomi is getting better every day so far and we are all keeping our fingers crossed for her full recovery..... More blood tests on friiday but she is now standing eating and pushing her greedy foal to suckle.....I have never seen anything like it...little one had even found out that when mum was too ill to stand he would crawl over to suckle.......it has been a humbling experience when you know that all of the lovely people calling to offer you their mares have just had a tragedy of their own by losing their own foals....thank goodness for the successful ones which far outweigh the difficult ones xxx
