My beautiful grey "Ghost" got kicked in the field yesterday, it shattered her leg and was put to sleep. I know I have a foal from her he is 3 on my birthday this year. But just can't face going to the yard at the mo. Although feel really mean that I am neglecting my other horses, I know I have people there looking after them but I am at a loss.

Oh you poor thing. Ive been in that exact situation and the shock alone knocked me sick.

Dont feel guilty about not going to the yard and don't force yourself. Everyone grieves differently and you have to give yourself the time to do so.

Words wont mean anything right now, but my heart goes out to you

Allow yourself time to grieve, and stop beating yourself up, you're not neglecting your other horses at all.

Life really is very unkind sometimes*hug*

. I can quite understand why you don't want to go to the yard at the moment - don't feel guilty about it. Hopefully, with time you will find that you can look back at the good times you had, and the pain of her loss will start to recede.

OMG ((((hugs))))

How awful for you, poor Ghost.

Ive never lost a horse so dont know how you feel, but i can imagine your pain.

I dont know quite what to say, but thinking of you.

OMG tragic news! ((((Big Hugs)))) coming to you from me! Dont feel guilty about not goign upto the farm! The best thing to do is think about the best times you had with your wonderful Ghost!

So sorry to hear about your poor horse. Don,t worry about neglecting your others, they will be fine and you can go and see them when you are ready. Take time to get over your loss.

I'm sorry to hear that how devastating for you.
At the moment you just need some time to get your thoughts together. Don't feel bad about your other horses, you know someone else is caring for them which is the main thing. It will take time and although you will never forget your lovely horse each day gets a little bit easier. At some point you will be greatfull for your other horses.

Thinking of you at this hard time. xx

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Ghost. I know it is hard to deal with but think of all the good things and just think you are fortunate to have a foal from them

How awful - my thoughts are with you. I understand what a shock a sudden loss can be

Everyone's different but when you feel ready going to the farm may help with the healing process, help you come to terms with things...

Thats terrible Caz. So sorry for your loss honey. Give yourself time to grieve and return to the yard when you're ready. You never know the company of the other horses may be just what you need, just take your time xxx

So sorry to read this.
She was a gorgeous mare and will definitely be missed...she stuck out like a sore thumb at polox considering she was a giant!
Don't rush yourself back to the yard, i'm sure Ash has everything under control.
Hopefully you'll have many years to look forward to with your youngster, lets hope he's got his mum's looks and talent.
Big hugs. X
