Absolutely gutted! A tale of ignorance...

Walk away there are lots of nice horses out there needing loving homes it sounds to me like you are a better owner than her and she didn't like that fact let her get on with it and find yourself another horse :o

Draw the money out in cash and wave it under her nose, with a receipt ready to sign. If that doesn't work, then you need to either walk away or treat this as a welfare issue. Where is the yard owner in all this? Don't they care about neglect?
The way I see it, you're going to end up with grief whatever you do. You may as well end up with the horse, too! I personally would do as above, then fight bloody dirty.

Well we had a text today at last - apparently he's had his work mob turned off over the festivities! He has offered my co owners hubby the opportunity to meet up with him tomorrow to exchange the cash and tack.... Should we be looking at a receipt or anything for this exchange?

Quite sad tbh - hoped we would somehow end up with the neddy :(

Wait till she advertises him and get someone else to buy him for you

yes do get a receipt, just incase :) but like the other poster above said, wait till she advertises him and get someone to buy him for you :) don't lose hope yet :)

Thanks

She seems to think that the sound 10yo they bought is still worth the 3.5k they paid for him - 6 years as a field ornament and 6mths 'stiff', now aged 16yo - hubby offered us him for 1.2k incl tack....

About right I reckon... no?

Just upset about the whole thing! He was our soul mate and friend, not just a possession!!
