She's lame in her good front leg. The Vet has just been and she is sure that it is because chestnut mare has been uneven for so long (she's been on field rest for over a year now). The vet is coming back on tuesday to see how she's progressing. It's just heartbreaking, we are so very nearly at the end and it was looking like she could come back into work this summer.

Vibes please for a lovely mare who really needs some good luck.

I know how gutting this kind of thing is. Just had a massive setback with my boy. Hopefully it will be something and nothing for your mare. Does the vet know what it is? Could it be laminitis? My mare got lami in her good fore. She had had a massive shoulder injury two years before that and was retired. It is so gutting when the good leg goes wrong. Sending vibes for your girl.

O F. I am so, so disappointed for you :(

Don't panic yet though. She may just need a tune up for achey muscles etc. Her poor good leg has been working hard for a long time after all.

Massive amounts of (((((((vibes))))))))))) from me and my crocky pair. We've got everything crossed for you that it's an easy fix!

Thank you for the vibes, I'm sending some back for your boy.

It's definately her fetlock. She is normally a very quiet horse but she pulls her leg away from you if you flex the joint which is totally unlike her. You can flex any other joint in the leg with no trouble.

I just want her to be OK.

Thanks JT, I'm also sending vibes to both of yours. I'm really hoping that it's just a setback and not a gamechanger IYSWIM.

ETA. Thanks CD.

Her bad hoof, looks amazing now, it's only got about a cm to grow out. We really were so nearly there.

Really sorry to hear this. Horses are so depressing.

I hope your patience pays off in the end.

Sending good vibes and speedy recovery.

I'm in the same situation, its so upsetting when you think you have sorted them and can see a good future, then you get a big set back.

I'm so sorry to hear about this, having experienced lameness recently I know how utterly devastating and heartbreaking it is.

My horse is ok at the minute *looks for wood to touch* but every time I go to him I'm expecting to see him hobbling towards me.

I had only had him a couple of months and he suffered from bouts of crippling lameness, every time he came sound he would go down lame again. After £700 worth of vets treatment I think we have a diagnosis. If it hadn't have been for the support I've received (including off here ) I don't know what I would do.

I am thinking about you both ))hugs((

It seems to be that time of year for a few unlucky of us.

Huge vibes for your mare, I can really feel your pain right now - I do hope it's something innocuous that can be solved quickly. x

Well, the drugs are working and she was able to walk over to me without looking like a three legged cripple. I'm really hoping that the Vet is happy with her on tuesday and that giving her lots of pain relief - which will let her move more evenly - will let the leg recover.

Fingers crossed. X
