Absolutely Laughable

Sorry just can't hold this in any longer. Warning in advance, MAJOR rant!
Our livery is a lovely very friendly yard where everyone is very supportive and there is very little bitchiness. Last year this (rather large) then 13 girl moved on with her just bought 4 year old 17.2hh horse.The horse was a sweetie but she just didn't have a clue as was and still is a very poor rider.

Soon after she had him due to her heaving herself up onto him every day he became naughty to mount resulting in her ending up in a heap several times screaming, crying etc... So mummy and daddy paid to have him schooled by the yard owner and her very experienced rider who spent a long time gaining the horses trust again and basically teaching him to put up with her terrible mounting.

Throughout all of this she was the rudest most obnoxous (sp) piece of work and refused the advice of anyone on how to care best for her horse (the advice was never rude or critical our yard has supported many newbies.)

She had the horse on DIY livery but would pay extra to have him done in the morning (despite the fact she NEVER attends school) and would regularly leave him with no feed or net until 11 at the weekend (whebn he is fed at 6.30 every other day) and would have him mucked out with night net by 3pm.

I could go on forever but here is the absolute shocker said girl has now set up her own business 'riding people's horses whilst they are at work or on holiday and re-backing youngsters'!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the same girl who had to pay for her gem of a horse to be rebacked after she ruined him.

What planet do these people live on? She has now thankfully moved off the yard but continues to put nasty and completely untrue comments on facebook about our yard. Sorry needed get that off my chest.
 
If people have an unfit, overweight child turn up to ride their horses or back their youngsters and hand money over to her to do so, they need their heads examining. Hopefully, her 'business' will come to nothing, very quickly. You reall do wonder what the parents are telling her (or not) that this girl is allowed to carry on living in clooud cukoo land at their expense!
 
Yes I have to agree that most people would be very stupid to pay her. Her parents are so stupid they even pay for him to be on full livery all day so she can go and see her boyfriend becasuse their precious daughter can'tpossibly get up half an hour earlier even if she has had all week off school!

Makes me think if she spent a day in my shoes:

Up at 6.00 on Saturday after getting up all week then having to walk 30mins to yard as currently don't have a car. Muck out around three horses, ride, walk home, REVISE, walk back down yard for 3.00 to work at yard then muck out own/friends horses then WALK HOME AGAIN!

I feel your pain, I walk to my yard on the days my OH can't give me a lift, work from home and raise two children. I know she is an annoying little brat but she's off the yard so I'd ignore her. She's well on the way to making herself a laughing stock on the local horsey scene so I would sit back and enjoy the show. Once people see her for what she is, they are not going to pay a blind bit of notice to what she says about your yard. Its off topic, but a boyfriend - at 14?!!!
 
The amount of people who 'break' in horses who really don't have a clue! Its quite shocking really- you just think to yourself why would anyone send a horse to them! Some difficult 3 year old will sort them out, the hard way.

Haha this made me laugh.

Don't even get me started on the boyfriend you should see what they put on facebook for everyone to see (disgusting)!

The other night a couple of us were at one of the girl's birthdays and had had a bit too much and one of the girls rang the number on her website and asked if she'd be prepared to break in a 3 year old belgium warmblood. So gutted I had gone to the loo! Unfortunately I think she twigged it was us. I wouldn't normally advocate something like that but we were just all so fed up with her.
 
Ahh, dont even get me started, A friend of mine who has only been riding for 3 years and only owned the 1 horse told me she has contemplating buying a partially broke 3yo, I literally nearly bought the poor thing to prevent her getting her hands on it.......
 
drives me crazy when people dont appreciate what they have a new girl at our yard went o buy chickens at this womans house and liked a pony there so her parents bought it for her! she has NEVER had a lesson in her life and twice sat on a friends pony cant even put on a headcollar of tie up... AND HER HORSE IS A JUST BACKED 3YO!!! want to rip my hair out! shes sweet but on DIY and he dad does absolutely everything... I am lucky enough to have a horse and grateful for the 8 years i spent learning everything i could(have read pretty much every horse book cover to cover and worked in a riding school and livery yard) before i got a horse : )
 
Oh my gosh! Saying that, I know a girl who is 13, chavvy, went to pony club camp and in my group who has this sweet 13.2 pony who is a saint and would do anything, she's crap at riding and one of those 'i've done this and that won every show around ect'. She goes and takes her aunties eventing horse to camp 'caus he's prettier' :O needless to say it dumped her 4 times, once in the water complex on the XC and once on an electric fence :D

The next day she rang mummy and daddy and demanded she had her pony back working the next 2hours. Now she's bought a very nutty off the track TB... If only she had a couple of brain cells :rolleyes:

And d'ya know what? I raise my glass to you for your enthuse to do the above :) Think I've got a bit idle in my old age - no car, I'd not have a horse!!

Thanks that is very kind of you although I can't drive myself anyway (only another month!) my mum hasn't been able to drive for three months due to some medicaiton she is taking. I do also have to mention all the wonderful people at the yard who have rallied round to ensure I can always get a lift on school mornings and any other time they possible can. YM even offered to take me in her lorry to local ODE even though she would have had to arrange someone to cover her two hours of teaching!
 
Ahhh I was 23 before I got my 1st car ! I was lovely and thin back then from all the walking to the farm and back before and after work (*sighs*)
 
maybe you should suggest she include breaking in her business...given that she has proven she can literally break them! Poor poor horse! This is why you should need a license to have horses!
 
omg! talk about not appreciating what you've got! I hate this trait, but i'm afraid i think it comes back to the parents, i have had ponies since i was very young, and like most of you i had to get evening/sat job to pay for their care, do all the work myself, do exams etc in the meantime- however i don't regret it because i would much rather know the true value of things and the actual looking after part of the animal is in some ways the most rewarding part! What a shame for you having to see this on a daily basis...
 
L. Hubbard teaching ideas, the first hurdle to learning is getting someone they don't know everything about the subject. Given this premise, & this young lady's closed mind, I doubt she will learn much more about schooling horses as it appears she believes she knows everything already.

Doesn't stop it getting on your wick though when you see the horse suffering for her ignorance. If I paid someone to back a youngster, & a tubby teenager paid up they wouldn't be going near the horse. Not being fattest, I'm not skinny & I wouldn't put me up as first rider on a horse. With unused muscles, it is just so much kinder to use a light weight jockey. And they'd have to be an exceptional teenager (such as a Whitaker or Mary Kings daughter kinda level where they compete successfully) to do this vital job.
