Absolutely Livid, and advice wanted!

The Muvi from Amazon is perfectly good, much smaller than the GoPro and far cheaper if you fall off and squish it! With a large card in it and a full charge we get just under 8 continuous hours. My daughter wears it to hack and also to hunt because of the behaviour of some in that arena.

You can also get tail guards with a small camera embedded in them and Hi Viz shirts which say something like "Sile you're on camera" They were launched at YHL last year - but I seem to recall they were featured in H&H too? Stopping someone doing this at all is better than catching them afterward.

Inky got lots of reassurance and strokes from me, and lots of cuddles when we got home, poor thing was so scared!

Anyway, any recommendations for cameras/models and chest mounts from you guys? I'm a bit poor (aren't we all here lol) so I'd probably have to go second hand, but looking for something that'll do at least 1h 30mins with sound, with enough definition to make out a license plate.

another good idea when two of you is one memorize first half plate the other do the same so you get full reggo

All reported to BHS, thanks for the link! I've shared on facebook and a few people have mentioned they heard them around that time, a testament to how loud they were!

Thanks for all the camera recommendations, will be looking at purchasing one after next payday (shift uplift payment phew!)
 
I usually find that motorbike riders are the most polite in terms of slowing down and passing wide. I've had far more idiots on push bikes and in cars than I have with bikes - most of them completely stop for me or slow right down.

I know you were shaken up, but in future I'd recommend not cuddling her and patting her after she's taken off with you. It might have been a knee-jerk reaction from you, but if she's scared the worst thing you can do is reward that behaviour.

The best thing you can do is completely ignore any unwanted behaviour and carry on like nothing's happened.
 
I am a hacker AND motorcyclist and I just can't understand the mentality of people who would 'speed up' rather than slow down or stop when approaching a horse. What were they thinking???? Regarding the camera, I have just purchased a Muvi to take on our up and coming motorbike trip. Similar to a Go Pro I think and it came with a multitude of attachment options.

Yeah, I understand what you're saying. I've worked to make it so a stroke is a reassurance thing and a good scratch is a reward. Vets, stroke to settle her. Good behavior, good scratch on the withers.
 
I fell off in the middle of the road once and while I was led there a motorbike (bigun) came zipping past, no effort to slow down or stop to see if I was OK?! Lucky for me I still had hold of the reins and even luckier it didn't startle my horse (somehow). Safe to say I'm not fond of any bikes, on the roads or byways.
 
I have found that in general ,motorcyclists are far more horse conscious than cyclists.I had the entertainment once of watching a bike go a little too fast past me (though not bad by normal standards ) Then a second bike passed courteously and carefully , rode off and caught up with his mate at the road junction ahead. Now I cant read sign language but there was a hell of a lot of finger pointing at the first rider ,interspersed with the odd point back at my horse. Somebody ,I suspect ,just had his card marked and future read ,visa vi passing horses safely. Made me grin.

My thoughts entirely and I'm a biker as well as horse rider! ...can't stand that sort of behaviour.

I think you need to report it to the police even though you don't have evidence as they may have done it to someone else or may do it to someone else next. Your testimony might just help to bring a conviction. Are there any local bike sites or bike clubs you could tell - they might know who it is and deal with them.

If that had been the horse I'm sharing atm, we'd have bolted as far as Australia and back :(

Their cameras are good aren't they.
I sold loads from their range of sports/headcams as well as dashcams and security cameras. People slate them for being cheap but I must say the quality was good for Chinese stuff.
