absolutely shocking.

why are so many on there from Durham? There are some seemingly nice horses/ponies on there, but why anyone would want to advertise on there - it has such a bad reputation for poor and young ridden horses :(

Gypsies!!!! You can tell from the riding position of the lad. Also they lurve coloureds. We have them round here, they are always riding their ponies on the roads bare backed, and if not riding them, then driving them. And they are always young coloured cobs!!!

I try not to look.... I honestly think the ppl are so stupid that they cannot see what they are doing is so wrong. Unfortunately it will never change. Unless the age a racehorse is broken is raised, then riding a yearling will be deemed as acceptable to a minority off ppl. I cant right what I honestly think of these ppl because I fear I will be banned.

Yes, I also disagree with that but at least TB's do mature quicker than cobs - the ones in the above links won't be finished maturing until their at least 6 so it just seems worse somehow to see grown men riding real babies :(
Actually, and someone else will have to provide the link to the information, the growth plates of all breeds/types of horses mature and close at exactly the same pace.

Found the link. You'll need to scroll down to get to the nitty gritty

I don't agree with it and I know the damage that it can cause first hand, I would never dream to sit on my yearling.

No hats, no saddles, no idea - def gypsies.

However I don't find Essex Boy stallion he looks alright - not sure his photos get him any stud work through.

Has someone reported these people? No way should they be allowed to get away with what theyre doing :(

Who to?

It's not illegal to break horses young otherwise the whole racing industry would be in the dock. I wouldn't ride or drive a baby but I don't think you can stop others doing so.

There are also some pretty useful sorts for sale on DD as well.

Can't tar everyone who advertises on there with the same brush.

Interesting rein use on first link too.

I've found some lovely types on dragon driving and wouldn't hesitate to look on there, but would be careful as with any site.

No hats, no saddles, no idea - def gypsies. Well! Nothing like stereotyping everyone is there?
.....

So, anyone on here, and I bet there are a few, who chooses (personal choice) to ride without a saddle, or a hat (and the hat subject has been done to death, let's not go there again please) are automatically gypsies eh?

The casual racism on this forum never ceases to amaze me :(

Agreed. Not just here though, for some reason derogatory language and sweeping statements about the travelling community seems to be considered perfectly acceptable by many people.

There are some really shocking pictures on there. BUT someone said earlier Who would advertise on that site; Well Me, it was one of the places I have advertised my horse. I put an advert for my horse on there are he is a ride and drive horse; there are some really nice horses on there and (mine being one :) ). As much as there are more than gypsies who advertise on DD its more than gypsies who will look on DD for a horse too. Its worth keeping an open mind.:)

It would be nice if people could extend that open mindedness to the "gypsies" too.

I think tarring all advertisers with the same brush is a bit strong, there are some lovely horses on there!

Its a bit like someone saying all HHOers are hunting obsessed ;)
