Aby recommendations for places to hire horses to hack? Essex/East area

Hi all

I have a friend coming to visit me in a few weeks and as I am currently horseless I wondered if there was anywhere you could recommend where we could hirse horses and go for a hack without having been there previously. I live in Essex but willing to travel a bit-thing is she is really advanced rider and therefore the idea of sharing a lesson with her seeing as I am rusty and like a sack of spuds doesn't appeal! Also don't know of anywhere anyway!

There is Poplar Park just in Suffolk near Woodbridge, they are pretty good. We have been out on hacks and pub hacks with them before but someone does go with you. I don't know of anywhere where you can hire horses though and not have anyone go with you.

Have you done a Google? good luck with finding somewhere

Thanks for that was thinking of Poplar park actually- I didn't intend to take a horse out alone as who would trust people to do that these days!! But just would like to go hacking somewhere without having to pass a hacking test beforehand of that makes sense. So do you just ring and book direct or did you have to meet the yard first and let them see you ride?
