Hi all,
I'm in the market for some new stirrups.
I currently have ophena stirrups and they're great, but found that I get pins and needles recently on longer rides. I got them because I have wide feet and likenthat my feet would easily release in the event of a fall.

In my research I came across Acavallo Flexia stirrups, but there aren't any reviews or videos online.
In principle they sound good with flexible footbed and 90 degree leather eye, but they're not very pretty lol.

Alternatively I'm looking at the MDC Super Sports, having previously owned Sprenger Bow Balances.

Anyone out there ever tried the Flexia stirrups???

Thanks!

I have an issue with flexi stirrups. We rely on our feet to tell us where our body is in space - proprioception. We also need flexible ankles in order for the rest of the body to do what it needs to do (stable knees, flexible hips etc). Flexi treads mean that proprioception is thrown off and, arguably, the ankles have to firm up to compensate for the flex, otherwise the knees end up unstable.

There have been a couple of posts in recent weeks on safety stirrups etc, worth a look. I like Safestyles but they won't suit everyone. They do come in a 13cm version.
