Hi everyone,
I'm off on a hacking holiday with some friends soon, but have been having some back trouble recently.

I am debating between a regular Gel Out (10mm thick) which comes in different sizes, or the Ride version which is deeper at 20mm, but only comes in Large.

As I don't know what horse I will be riding until we get there, I'm not sure if the Ride will be too big as its designed for 17.5-18.5 saddles, but the regular (and cheaper) gel out, I could safely get a medium and not have to worry too much.

So, if you have a Ride version, do you think it would be ok on a smaller saddle?

Or shall I just stick to the regular Gel out and save myself a tenner?

Thanks!

If you're not worried about thickness, I'd go for the medium. I had a pony sized one for a 16 inch saddle which later fastened fine on a 17 inch saddle, so would think that would be the better option for you. If you're having back trouble, though, you might want to consider a HM hip saver instead. I found that more effective than my Gel Out.

Thanks for your reply.

I've seen the HM hip savers, but couldn't quite figure out how they work as the picture doesn't really give an indication of use, nor does the description. If you could, would it be possible to see pics of them fitted to the saddle please?

Thanks again.
