hi everyone! I purchased an acavallo gel out pad to help make me more secure riding a spooky, cranky horse (i already use a R-S-Tor which I swear by) and usually wear suede seated or sticky gel breeches. I loved it for flat work but the first time I jumped in it I realised it changed my lower leg position - presumably because it changed the pivoting of my upper leg over a jump. I am a short (middle-aged and less flexible) rider with a relatively short lower leg, short arms with restricted shoulder movement which ultimately results in me adopting an untypical position jumping. towards the end of the lesson I took a very hard fall on an indoor surface when the horse tried to jump a small (2'6") jump on 4 1/2 strides which dislodged me. I seemed to be suspended in mid air with a leg hooked around the saddle for what seemed to be a long time before gravity won. I think that the sticky seat saver may have prevented me getting my leg back down to keep me in the saddle. this is the first time I've come off jumping in 12 years and didn't think the mare dislodged me enough initially for a fall to result. I bruised my pelvis and think I had internal inflammation, 6 weeks on i'm still slightly stiff and sore and still on painkillers. I mentioned this fall to a instructor a few weeks later and she too had a nasty fall wearing a gel out pad - she got dislodged and ended up with a foot stuck in her stirrup and dragged along the wall. She never rode in the gel put pad again and got rid of it. Has anyone had a similar experience with the gel out pad?

yeah I used to ride in one for a young pony that was a bucker and I needed to get rid of it, as it didn't let gravity work to let me slide back down into the saddle after I went up for a buck(if that makes sense!?). I found it really altered my way of riding, so I ended up selling it.
