Has anyone got one of the Acavallo gel pads? Do you think it alters the fit of the saddle?

I bought one with the sheepskin lining so that I'd have a thin pad to absorb the shock when she's jumping and prevent the saddlecloth slipping but the saddler came out today and said her new made to measure saddle fits perfectly so I don't want it to alter the fit at all.

I don't want to use it if it will alter but at the same time don't want to go without and it cost £100 so don't want it sat doing nothing!

Opinions? Do you think it'll be okay?
I like all my horses to have something but they haven't got M2M saddles and she does so don't want to alter fit.

When you say sheepskin lining do you mean the one that has the rolled sheepskin just at the front and back of the pad with no sheepskin actually on the part that the saddle sits on?

A sheepskinlining will affect the fit, sheepskin trim front and back much less likely to, no thicker than a cotton pad but ultimately it's like putting two cotton pads under, so has a small effect. A thicker pad generally tips the saddle back, it can't make it narrower or tighter in most cases (some high withered horses and some pads can cause tight spots) but it will put more weight on the back of the saddle.
