Does anyone have a clear Acavallo gel pad that could tell me if they get dirty quickly?

I have a black one but need a second one and would like a clear one for my dressage whites but I'm worry it will discolour or look grubby really quickly.

Personal reviews would be most helpful :)

I have the one with white fluff edging, the gel doesn't look too bad but I did accidently dye the sheepy with my Le Mieux raspberry pad :o. I have tried washing but it did weird things to the gel, so not tried again!

To be honest you cannot see the gel when its on as the saddle will cover most of it, I've had mine about a year now and it's worn well apart form the accidental dying :D.

I have a clear one - I think a lot depends on whether you are using directly on the back, or between saddle and numnah. I use mine on my horse, and it will look grubby, but I just dunk it in a bucket of water after each use, and it keeps it clean and sticky. When my horse was being ridden by someone else for a few weeks, and they didn't dunk the gel after each use, it came back looking a tad grubby, but a good swill in some hot soapy water soon sorted it out :)

In a way, I prefer the clear to black, as I would rather know it was grubby and clean it, rather than with the black ones not really being able to tell if they are dirty of not! ;)

I have one (it looks like a crumpet on top) and it does seem to make my white jodhpurs dirty when I compete on the bottom. I have found some really good 'glow white' fabric wash sheets to put in the whites wash and it brings my saddlecloth, white bandages and jods up lovely for SJ or dressage comps.

Every now and then I give it a wash with warm soapy water and allow to dry naturally.

I can thoroughly recommend them though as they are brilliant if you have a horse with a high back end action or changing legs extravagantly whilst jumping. Getting jarred in the back when you have a couple of prolapsed discs is no fun.

If I have to take it off for ODE dressage which I used to do then I can really feel the difference and my back is screaming in protest after my test. I tend to get away with using it for unaffiliated dressage competitions.

I'm after the one that goes under the saddle, I already have a black one, had it for a few years now and it is an essential piece of kit when i ride but having saddles it's a pain in the bum having to swap it every time i use a different saddle.

Sounds as though i will be okay with a clear one, thanks for the input :)
