Hi!

I currently ride in Acavallo stirrups but now I’m starting to jump again after having a baby last year I’m keen to get some safety stirrups. I absolutely love my Acavallo Opera stirrups so was looking at the Acavallo safety stirrup options.

My foot slips to the outside of my stirrups (something I’m working on with my instructor and a Pilates instructor who specialises in horse riders). So I was ideally looking for one where the release is at the top like the Rel-X versions. But I cannot find any threads on these.

Does anyone have any experience using these or the other Acavallo safety stirrups?

Thanks so much!

Hi 👋 I’ve been looking at these stirrups too. I ordered a pair from HorZe and they were lovely, the rubber safety arm seemed really good and flexible. I ended up sending them back as i heard concerns around the cheese grate footbed but I am planning on reordering them as they do seem to be the safest in my opinion.

I looked at the rel X easy when I wanted to change my stirrups for safety reasons. I'd actually ordered some then was informed that there was a 3 week wait for them to come into stock. I then ordered the Safestyle xlite stirrups which work on the same principle having a rubber sleeve on one side. They were very different in other ways and I was rather apprehensive as to whether they would suit my dodgy ligaments and arthritic joints but a few weeks in and I'm really happy with them and glad I took a chance on them.

Thank you! What were the concerns around the cheese grate footbed? My current ones have those already 🙈

Thank you! I’ll take a look at them 🧡

I believe there was a Facebook post where a number of people had issues with the tread being too grippy and them being unable to slip their foot out when needed. I’ve had a good look at lots of stirrups and the footbed on the Acavallos seem less grippy then the spikes in the Freejump, Lemieux and Flexon stirrups.

I have compositi ellipse with the rubber arm and I thought I wasn't going to like them as they're a bit heavier than expected but actually been pretty comfy and stable.

Ah interesting! Thank you
