Acavallo seat saver

I have one of each, but if I had to choose one it would be the gel out. I just feel more secure in it.

If you do a forum search though there are a few other threads on these seat savers, which will give you more opinions.

I have the gel in because it makes the saddle more comfortable (which was the aim of the exercise). I feel as secure in it as I did with a normal leather saddle, but more comfy. Guess it depends if you want it for comfort or stickability!

I have a gel out and absolutely love it! I suppose it depends what you want it for... I bought mine for sharp youngster so needed more security in the saddle, safe to say I stick to it like glue! lol :D

I have a gel out and I love it. Very comfy and also gives great stickability if your horse is at all sharp! I had a crow scarer go off only 10 foot away from us (it was hidden in the adjoining woodland so not visible!) the other day and he shot sideways what felt like another 10 foot, and I wasn't even slightly unseated!

I bought the gel out and had to return it as it was too sticky... so much so that when schooling in it it would pull my trousers down when doing rising trot. I think when I buy a new saddle I will rebuy it just for hacking in as it was very sticky and extremely comfortable, I would certainly think it would help for spooky spins.

I have the gel out - it's fantastic!
I broke my pelvis a few years ago and this seat saver has transformed my riding - at long last I feel comfortable and can sit deep without any discomfort.
My girl has an active behind and can be spooky but I always stay in place now!

I have two gel-in's, I personally wouldn't want the stick of the gel out - however they are great pads, you won't be disappointed and I expect you would be able to sell very easily if you choose the wrong one! :)

Just bought a gel in and cannot figure how the 2 short straps fasten. Friend and I puzzled for about 10 minutes but could not work it out. We tried to fasten together the 2 plastic serrated bits but that did not work. In the end left them loose.

I do not think either of us are particularly stupid but somehow lost the plot with this

The plastic clip tucks under the gap between the panel and seat, so they run towards each other but not past the gullet - hope this makes sense :)

Look at youtube, there is a video showing how to fit them!

Re the straps they are pointless anyway and I saw a few things which reckon they damage the saddle. Cut them off. The gullet strap is completely sufficient to keep it on. I had it on a really hard jump saddle. Don't use it on new saddle as it's not as hard. I therefore have the gel in brown for sale ;)

I too have a Gel out and love it! Like poiuytrewq, I bought it to help with a back problem, which it does and I don't find it too sticky.
