Hi all again, following on from my question about stirrups I'm interested in the claim that Acavello gel seat Savers can reduce back pain?? Anyone got any experience of this / using them????
Agree that MDC stirrups are brilliant.Three months ago after nearly 60 years of riding, I was on the verge of giving up because pain from an old ankle injury and lower back, hip and knee pain had become intolerable. In desperation I did some research and bought MDC sport stirrups and an Acavallo gel out seat saver. I hack for at least an hour daily and can now do so with very little pain (and dismount properly again without anything giving way!)
For me, this was money very well spent but I suspect that everyone needs to find out just what works for them, so if you can, borrow one to try first.
This is really interesting Lindy, thank you. I asked about the Opera stirrups on previous post. Essentially, after repeated abdominal surgeries I've been left with chronic pain syndrome that manifests mainly in my back, neck and sometimes down my legs. Plus a very, very weak core. So.... After soldiering on for last couple if years its finally dawned on me that there might be stuff out there to help 🤣🤣 I've ordered a pair of Compositi Reflex stirrups on advice but was also asking about Opera and Tekna Flex Tek ones.I have the gel out on both my saddles and I also have Acavallo opera stirrups so the set up is the same on both horses. Wouldn't be without them as I have dodgy hips and knees and find the extra cushioning works well for my arthritic joints.
